The President's Message
As I think back over the last year, I can picture many beautiful orchids. There were those at the SOOS, London and Ottawa shows, those on our own monthly show table and many new and different ones at our annual show in October. Some were at my own home and some at friends'. My arrangement from the auction is still flourishing and the arrangements or displays in Singapore were magnificent. It is all a matter of scale, but massive or so tiny that a magnifying glass is needed, orchids give us a lot of joy.
2012 will bring us many challenges as we continue to nurture our society, our relationship with the RBG and our next annual show with the COC. I am sure that as a group, we will meet those challenges while continuing to enjoy our orchids.
Of course, our families also bring us challenges and lots of joy too. I hope that 2012 brings health and happiness to all of your families and that you remember to look after yourself too.
So, I wish you all the best for 2012, health, happiness and don't forget to take the time to smell the orchids.

Sunday Morning Greenhouse
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS - THE SATURDAY MORNING GREENHOUSE HAS NOW BEEN MOVED TO SUNDAY MORNINGS
Denise MacLeod will now be heading up the Sunday Morning Greenhouse. Due to a more even watering practice the Saturday morning group has now been moved to Sunday morning.
There are a number of very large orchid plants that need repotting so that the earlier flower production can be retained. Also a person with a special interest in caring for Dendrobiums would be appreciated.
It is also possible to work on pollination and flasking activity on Sunday mornings. Volunteers are not required to attend every Sunday, but some commitment to the collection should be demonstrated.
Flasking Group
Anyone interested in flasking please give Ben Boers, Pat Vuurman or Bob Gibbon a call. This group usually meets once a month. Other times may be arranged.
