The RBG Orchid Library

After every RBG Annual Orchid Show, the orchid society has used part of the profits to purchase library materials: books, periodicals, video tapes, audio tapes and CD Roms. Our library of approximately 700 items is housed and catalogued in the Main RBG library which is available to members of the Orchid Society of the RBG from 1:30 to 2:00 on orchid-meeting Sundays. Come look us over and check out some materials for study at home. Magazines do not circulate.

The following policy guides selection of the material:

1) Provide for member's needs, primarily books on cultivation, propagation and identification.

2) Provide reference material for AOS judges at annual show and for judges in training.

3) Build an extensive collection to support the New World Orchid Species Collection.

4) Provide a comprehensive collection of books dealing with Native Canadian and North American orchids.
